tanked on heroic with no frost gear - just 3/5 t7.5 and 1 t8, got an OT paladin to taunt from me once Hodir procs Frozen blows - worked a treat,i'de just taunt it back if the pala got a big hit, my hp roughly stands on 45k raidbuffed so i could survive the dmg quite nicely. saves you having to fork out for unneeded frost res gear ^^

We just redeemed him last night in 10-man. I had a stamina/fire resist set that I had assembeled to MT Sarth back just before 3.1 dropped, and all the polar gear in it (for stamina) worked great for a stam/frost resist. I normally run at about 4.1k health but with those three pieces I was sitting at 4.7k with up over 400 FR once everything was said and done.

I tanked through the frozen blows just fine (took three tries to get him down)

What I'm wondering, does this work in 25-man as well? I'm worried about increased damage from the boss and threat. My threat wasn't an issue last night but in a 25-man it might be, and I didn't see a mention of weather you were in normal or heroic.

Yeah nice, I always have lots of fun in this fight - I think our whole raid loves it. I only use 3p frost resist, dont bother with a resist flask or head enchant, but that's just personal preference. You could always swap in the resist ring if you wanted more, without sacrificing your usual head enchant & flask. Agreed, havent found threat to be an issue at all, though I'm always pushing my threat as much as a can on every fight, trash included.
In fact, tanks get to attack him for a greater amount of time in total than everyone else, I think, so once you get ahead, you stay ahead, even in terrible looking stamina/resist gear.
